The standards development process is being conducted by a technical committee of approximately 40 people representing a broad range of producers, users, and general interests, involving representatives from both Canada and the USA. Committee members were selected on the basis of representing an interest that would be directly and materially affected by the standards and having expertise to provide important input to the development of consensus standards.
We anticipate that the committee and its task committees will hold a number of meetings in person and by conference call to develop a draft standard, resolve differences among participants, and ultimately arrive at a consensus bi-national standard on forest carbon measurement and accounting.
Committee Leadership:
• Michael Goergen, Society of American Foresters, Chair
• Steve Ruddell, CarbonVerde, Vice-Chair
• John Pineau, Canadian Institute of Forestry, Vice-Chair
